Carelli-Pellegrini ZERO Budget Adopted
A penny saved is a penny earned.
The Carelli-Pellegrini ZERO BUDGET was adopted by the Borough Council at Wednesday’s meeting. The budget passed with a 4-0 vote. Councilmen Astarita and Clinton were not present. Councilmen Carelli, Pellegrini and Revis all voted yes, as did Mastrangelo but not before qualifying his vote. He made it clear that he was only voting YES because he knew that, had the absent members been present, the budget would have passed even if he had voted NO.
As a result Riverdale taxpayers will see no increase in the municipal tax levy for 2015. For many, especially those on fixed incomes, this was welcome relief.
At the March 25th Council Meeting a final version of the ZERO BUDGET was approved and introduced by the Council. The next step is a public hearing and adoption of the budget which will be on April 22nd at Town Hall. Riverdale Chief Financial Officer, Ken Sesholtz, was on hand…
