Eye On Riverdale

A Banner Idea

By on March 29, 2016

If you couldn’t attend the March 9th Council Workshop meeting then you missed the Riverdale Beautification Committee as they announced some of their ideas and initiatives for the improvement/beautification of our town.  The committee is just one of several committees formed by the current administration to help drive community participation, and leverage the knowledge, expertise, and passion of our residents to make improvements for the town and all who live, work, or visit here.

The beautification committee announced several plans that include strategically placed flower boxes throughout the town, replacing the missing or damaged street lamps on Newark Pompton Turnpike, as well as painting and upgrading them with lighting fixtures to support holiday decorations.

One of the committees programs is to furnish those street lamps with “Welcome to Riverdale” banners.  The Banner Sponsorship Program offers local businesses the chance to sponsor a banner which will be placed on the light posts along Newark Pompton Turnpike.  A $100 donation gets 1 sponsored business banner.  It’s an opportunity to have Riverdales businesses contribute to the improvement of our community, but also provides them daily advertising to all those who travel Newark Pompton Turnpike each day.  At the time of this article several businesses have already committed to the donation and secured a commitment of a banner with their company information.

In case you missed the news release regarding the Banner Sponsorship Program and the Beautification Committee in this past Sundays Suburban trends we have included a link to the article below.
